More than 300 villages and roads in Companiganj in Sylhet, Gowainghat, and Upazilas in Jaintapur were flooded. 42 emergency shelters for flood victims have been opened in Gowainhat. Meanwhile, water from the Surma River has seeped into buildings and businesses in the vicinity. All road connections to Gowainghat Upazila have been interrupted. MASTUL has many years of experience, especially in flood and post-flood emergencies and disaster management. Based on years of experience, especially in relief goods distribution, MASTUL has dispatched an emergency response team to initiate emergency food distribution in the affected area of Sylhet, Bangladesh. The MASTUL Foundation and Employees of LIDL Bangladesh Ltd. provided flood relief to thousands of inclined people. MASTUL Volunteers together with some of the LIDL employees constantly distributed the flood relief till 10 pm in opposition to insane water and unfavorable environmental surroundings to the door-to-door of waterlogged people. The MASTUL and employee group of LIDL Bangladesh Ltd offered 2 types of food relief – cooked food and dry food. The collaborated team had started to distribute relief by providing dry food such as rice, lentils, soybean oil, flour, salt, dry rice, and mustard oil with purified water. But the water level in some of the flood areas was getting higher and higher and making it impossible for a few people to cook alone. The MASTUL and LIDL Employee teams also went to those remote areas of Sylhet. They instantly cooked Kichudi on a rescue boat and distributed it to the people affected by the flood
