MASTUL Foundation Empowers Widows in Comilla with Sewing Machines: A Step towards Self-Sufficiency

Almost 21 women from Comilla Burichang Upozilla got sewing machines from the “MASTUL Zakat Empowerment” initiative. The purpose is to provide them an impactful solution to get rid of the poverty circle. 

The widows face an unbearable level of plight and several obstacles in society. Besides this, they could not ensure the required level of financial solvency. Ostracism, malnutrition, and overall extreme grade of poverty are the common issues for these women. 

Considering all of these factors MASTUL Foundation has taken the initiative to stand next to them. The initial target is to support them to be self-empowered.  Because financial solvency can remarkably uplift their lives. Moreover, it can play a massive role in getting rid of their several barriers. 

The Founder and Executive Director of MASTUL Foundation Kazi Reaz Rahman stated, “ MASTUL Foundation is on a mission to make the marginalized people self-sufficient. Especially, the helpless women including the widows are our top priority.” 

With the collaboration of Md Sharif Mahmud Apu, PR Officer of the Home Ministry, the MASTUL Foundation reached out to these beneficiaries and organized this successful event at Comilla. Apart from the beneficiaries, esteemed local individuals, media persons, and MASTUL Officials were presented at the event.
